New Renaissance Dress!
This beautiful dress reminds me of the Rapunzel costume in Disney's 'Tangled'! My little sister saw it and immediately begged me to do my blond doll's hair in Rapunzel's style! I wasn't able to do it, but she sat down and made her hair look great! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a picture of that style, but the dress is still beautiful!

Out of all the dresses I have made, this one has probably been the hardest to figure out. Slashes in sleeves are somewhat easy for adult clothing, but completely impossible for dolls. I spent hours brainstorming on just how to accomplish this, and I went on to make several mock-ups and experiments. I am so pleased with the results! It's not simple, by any means, but it looks great! I was also thrilled to find some beautiful glass beads that matched my brocade perfectly! I couldn't be more excited about this dress!

Brand New!!
New items are finally out! Many of these outfits have literally been in the works for 6 months. I am very excited about many of these, but especially the 'Annie Oakley' Dress. The skirt is made to look like the split riding skirts of the time, and the lace on the blouse adds just the right touch to make it feminine!

More posts about the other dresses coming soon!

New homepage video!

I have had this idea for a few weeks- to make a new video that highlights the reasons behind Independence Day. So many people look forward to a time with friends, great food, music and fireworks, but we often forget why we have this wonderful holiday.
I wanted to create a video that captures what we have lost; a sober look at how many people over the past 400 years have given their lives to create a new, free world.
My little 'poem' of sorts (and I'm not a poet either) for the video is:
Let us never forget
The sacrifices made,
The journeys taken,
And the battles won.
And may we all, indeed, never forget.

New items are coming...eventually!
I regret that I have not been able to post the new designs on the official website, www.yoreclothes.com yet. My website has been through three stages so far- the first two were red, so all of my business cards and tags are still red. I changed to my new site (the one you see now) in February of this year, and I am still waiting for the new purple tags to come in before I post new inventory. I am very excited about the new designs!
Also, If you grew up during the late 60's or mid 70's, what did you wear? I have been doing alot of research on the 70's, and I confess that I can't find very much. My 1970's section on the website needs alot of new designs! If you have a picture of an outfit that you would like to see in a doll form, send it to yoreclothes@ntelos.net .

My Authenic 1895 Outfit
I made this outfit in October of 2010, and I thought some might find it interesting. I did some historical reenacting and realized that I didn't have a dress in the correct time period, so I
made this in a hurry! The design is based on a period illustration and has classic leg-of-mutton sleeves. I thought you all would enjoy seeing pictures.

New Regency Dress!

This new dress was inspired by a dress seen in the 2008 'Masterpiece Theater' film, 'Emma'. It is made with antique taffeta that is a bright fuschia color. It is called the 'Josephine Bonaparte' dress after Napoleon's wife and the first Empress of France. Quanitities of this dress are limited because of the amount of material available. You can find a full description of this dress Here.

'Bon Voyage' Dress

This was inspired by a costume seen in the period film 'Anne of Green Gables'. It is hard for a picture to do justice to the tiny details of this dress. The striped fabric is used in such a way that the stripes are used to their best advantage to make the design. The pinstripe fabric is so small that it is difficult to see the stripes in the full-length
picture.

One of the latest designs...

The picture does not do this beautiful dress justice! The basic style of this dress is fairly common in Edwardian clothing. A sheer collar was commonly worn underneath dresses to give them a 'layered' look- very similar to the popular layered style today. Click here to visit the page for this dress for more information. Also, don't forget to click through the site to see the other new designs!

A popular Regency dress is back!

This beautiful dress is known as the 'Emma Woodhouse' dress. It is made out of a special pale green moire taffeta that is very difficult to find. A couple of months ago, I thought that I had more fabric, but I couldn't find it. Well, a couple days ago I was thrilled to find much more of the fabric hidden in one of my fabric chests. Therefore, the 'Emma Woodhouse' Dress is available again. I estimate that I will be able to make 6 dresses out of the fabric, so the amount of time that it will be on the website is limited. You can visit the product page with a full description here.

New Designs and Spring Clearance!
I am excited to introduce eight brand-new designs! There are new dresses in Medieval, Renaissance, Colonial, Civil War and Edwardian. The designs include a dress inspired by Eowyn in 'Lord of the Rings', a costume seen in the period film 'The Duchess', a new Civil War ball dress, a costume inspired by Rachel Lynde in 'Anne of Green Gables', and others.
Also, I have marked the price down on several outfits. There are very few of these dresses left, so don't wait to grab them if you want! Save up to 15% for a limited time. I should add that there is nothing wrong with any of these dresses- they have simply been in stock for quite some time and I am trying to make room for new designs. New Regency Coat and Hat!

I am very excited about the new Regency 'going-out' set. It has a soft brushed corduroy coat, which looks like velveteen. My favorite part is the hat. I have spent quite a long time perfecting this design and I am thrilled with the results. The page with the full details is Here.

Sneak Peek at new Regency designs!
Even though there are no pictures yet, I though I would let eveyone know what is coming up in the next week or so for Doll Clothes of Yore!
- An absolutely gorgeous regency bedroom set! This includes a white chemise and a beautiful embroidered light blue dressing-gown.
- A lovely melon-colored day dress inspired by a costume in the latest movie version of 'Emma' starring Romola Garai.
- Soon I will make a long 'Spencer' coat. This will be made of dark blue brushed corduroy, which looks and feels like velveteen. I hope to put a straw poke-bonnet with this dress.
Pictures are forthcoming, and the product pages on the site should be set up in a week or so. For now, however, here is the link to the current Regency Gallery.

A Popular Design is back!

The limited edition 'Harriet Beecher Stowe' dress is a new version of an older design! The past versions have been extremely popular, and I hope that this one will be as well! The dress is fashioned after a popular Civil War design that features wide Bolero sleeves. There are only four of these dresses available, so if you love this design as much as I do, don't wait!
